Today I have gone all sorts of crazy and decided to jump on the other side of the camera with my little mini model :) I had the opportunity to try out a new line of fabric from Birch Fabrics and Fabricworm… Swan Lake is here and I’m in love! Swan Lake is the debut collection from husband and wife design team Patrick and Andrea Patton. Swan Lake was inspired by the stillness of forest pond. Graceful swans make their entry for a graceful finale to a perfect evening at Swan Lake. Completed in a palette of calming hues, you’ll find Swan Lake fits into your home or nursery with no fuss at all. They best part is you can get Swan Lake in quilt weight poplin, knit, and double gauze.
I love love love the shade of this green so I choose “Bevy Pond” in the knit substrate. As usual, the knit is amazing! The quality of Birch knit never disappoints, if you are new at sewing with knits I highly recommend it because it sews more like a quilting cotton and isn’t slippery at all. The thickness is perfect and feels super rich.
I love a good v-neck and I have had the Union St. Tee on my to-sew list for a while now. I love this pattern, easy and quick but looks very professional!
Then I figured that everything is cuter in mini form so I had to make one for my girl too! For her pattern I used the Vintage V-neck… also quick and easy, just how I like it :) We both love our new summer tees, Bee loves animals and loves that it has “birdie-birdies” all over it! We went to lunch after taking these photos and we got lots of “awwwwws” for our twinning shirts haha!
Thanks so much to Fabricworm and Birch for our amazing fabric! You can check out all of the other prints HERE.
